Cultivation
Grow in moist but well-drained neutral to acid soil in sun or partial shade. Late frosts may damage flowers.
Compact, deciduous shrub or small tree about 4m tall, with dark green leaves to 10cm long, and producing goblet-shaped flowers in early to mid-spring before the leaves, which are very pale pink, flushed with darker purple-pink on the outside.
